Given the particular vulnerability of children, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the International Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) in 1989. Every child has the right to life, education, freedom of thought, conscience and religion… <\/p>\n

All these rights must be respected by States parties, guided by the Committee on the Rights of the Child. In its concluding observations, the Committee systematically recommends that States provide training and awareness-raising activities on children’s rights for the general public, and for professionals working for and with children: <\/p>\n

” (The Committee recommends) ensuring, including through the allocation of adequate resources, that systematic training on the rights of the child and on the Convention and its Optional Protocols is provided to all professionals working for or in contact with children, in particular those working in the fields of education, health, child protection, social welfare, alternative care, justice and asylum<\/em><\/a>“.<\/p>\n
